Dell Latitude X1’s first look
The company bought two notebooks and the model is strange: Dell Latitude X1.
Why say strange? Because you can not find this model in dell’s website. The reason given by agency is that X1 is only recommanded to large customers so it is not listed in the site.
X1 is nearly the highest price notebook in dell’s series. It has a 12inch wide screen ( 16:9 ) and a ultra-low-voltage 1.1g CPU. Then I upgrade the ram to 512M and disk to 60G.
The first look brings me a surprise. Dell is always making large and heavy notebooks in my memory:) But X1 is the absolutely different one: small, light weight, somewhat beautiful I think.
Here’s some advantage and disadvantage of X1.
Advantage:
- Light weight
- Beautiful look
- Has a SD and CF reader ( someone said it can support MS too )
- Power switch’s design seems like apple, which can release green light at night
- Keyboard is good in small notebooks
- Has seperate wifi and bluetooth indicator light
Disadvantage:
- I worry about its shell technics. It maybe fall off after one year’s using and then will be ugly…
- Problem of heat especially in the right down corner
- Has too many labels in it’s back ( 10 )
- Omit PS2 COM LPT, so it will be not enough for only 2 USB port
- No PCMCIA!
- No TV-OUT!
Here’s some pictures of X1 and my N410c:)
